Loretta P. Bartolo, of Yonkers, NY, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Manhattan on October 27, 1942, Loretta was the only child of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Pacelli) Bartolo.

Loretta’s journey was adorned with the colors of love, family, and style. She was a professional hairdresser and a true fashionista, she graced every moment with impeccable style, never leaving her home without her hair and makeup flawlessly in place. Her elegance and poise were a testament to her innate sense of glamour.

As a proud alumna of James Monroe High School in the Bronx, Loretta was voted “most-fashionable” by her classmates, an early recognition of the unique flair that defined her throughout her life. She loved reading, cooking, and crafts but above all else, she cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren called her “Nanny”.

She was a remarkable individual, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her dedication to family, her sense of style, and her warmth as “Nanny” and “Santa” during Christmas Eve celebrations are beautiful reflections of a life well-lived.

Loretta is survived by her three sons Thomas O’Rourke (Dawna), Joseph O’Rourke, and Michael O’Rourke; granddaughter Rachel O’Rourke Warren (George); great-grandchildren Giovanni O’Rourke, Gia Warren and Gabriel Warren.

The family will be present on Tuesday. January 9th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 732 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 10th at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 670 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704. Loretta will then be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4199 Webster Ave, Bronx, NY 10470.
