Saint Joseph’s Welcomes Renowned Surgeons and Introduces Mako Robotic Technology

Saint Joseph’s Medical Center recently welcomed doctors, David Lent and Eric Spencer while also embracing Stryker’s Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology. Saint Joseph’s now utilizes Mako to enhance precision and performance success in orthopedic surgeries like knee and hip replacements.

Mako robotic-arm assisted technology

The Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology revolutionizes orthopedic surgery by seamlessly integrating robotic precision with the expertise of surgeons. This innovative system utilizes pre-surgical CT scans to create personalized 3D joint models, enabling the development of customized surgical plans based on individual anatomy. During surgery, orthopedic surgeons guide the robotic arm, adhering to the pre-operative plan while making real-time adjustments. This approach ensures precision within set boundaries, minimizing risks associated with traditional joint replacements. The result produces improved outcomes, faster recovery, and heightened patient satisfaction, making Mako a cutting-edge solution for orthopedic procedures.

With Mako, orthopedic professionals like Dr. Lent and Dr. Spencer can tailor the device to fit the individual needs of patients. This customization provides efficiency and accuracy, while considering health risks. Mako robotic-arm assisted technology is designed to alleviate the pressures and challenges that can arise during a surgical operation–literally serving as a helping hand.
