Community groups will hold a roundtable discussion about the Southwest Yonkers Wastewater Treatment Plant, a meeting prompted by growing concerns about water quality after a large discharge of partially treated sewage into the Hudson River. The meeting is set for Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Beczak Environmental Center. Dan Shapley of Riverkeeper and Bob Morrow, a physician and environmental activist, will be the featured speakers. The Hudson River Community Association, United Yonkers and the Westchester Coalition for Clean Water are sponsoring the event.
