

New York State Assembly District 90 is one of three Assembly districts that cover most of Yonkers and is currently represented by Assemblyman Nader Sayegh, who announced earlier this year that he would not seek reelection. The district includes neighborhoods on both the city’s east and west sides, and contains approximately 140,000 residents.
Because the district is heavily Democratic, the winner of the June 23 Democratic primary will be strongly favored in the November general election. This year’s primary pits Frank Jereis, the chief-of-staff to Assemblyman Sayegh and Executive Director of the Yonkers Democratic Party, against Jeannette Garcia, an attorney, labor organizer, and Working Families Party-backed progressive challenger.
