Effective June 14, 2026, I am stepping down as Publisher of The Yonkers Ledger. Since early 2025, I have built on the success of The Ledger’s Founder, Mark Parolisi, in a number of ways. Recruiting and supporting writers has been the most rewarding, from political and culture desk writer , theater critic Kevin Confoy, art critic Jamie Rotante, poet Marion Brown and a number of excellent student interns: Kenneth Morales, Isabella Thomas and Hannah Fuller among others who learned about the ins and outs of writing about Yonkers educational, business and historical institutions.

Yonkers is New York’s third-largest , and there is always something newsworthy happening if you pay attention.

Across the country, there is a growing network of non-profit newsrooms. Look to Institute for Non-Profit News (INN) for more information about the work of providing independent, local news to readers across the US. Consider adding your voice to the mix with an piece or researched article about what you see happening.

The mission of non-profit news is an important one, and I encourage our readers to continue to follow, donate, like and subscribe to The Ledger in the days and months ahead.

Thanks to all those who gave their time, money and talents to the efforts of non-profit news during my tenure as Publisher. I wish my successors all the best.
