Yonkers’ local Library Jazz Band has announced their upcoming summer events.
MAKE MUSIC YONKERS
The summer season gets off to a fine start with a concert to celebrate MAKE MUSIC YONKERS. This will take place Sunday, June 21, the longest day of the year, as a day-long celebration of music-making. Started in France in the 1980’s, Make Music Day is now feted in over 100 US Cities. This concert is presented with the support of ArtsWestchester and thanks to the City of Yonkers Department of Parks and Recreation and Mayor Mike Spano. To see the Library Jazz Band, come to Yonkers Esplanade, South of Yonkers Pier from 12:00-1:00 pm.
UNTERMYER PARK AT SUNSET
Nothing compares to Untermyer at sunset. Come Saturday, July 18 for an evening performance starting at 6:30 pm. Plan to come early to choose your spot and stroll the gorgeous gardens before the show starts. Bring a blanket or chair. This event is free and open to the public. Meet at Great Lawn, 945 North Broadway, Yonkers, NY, 10701.
ANNUAL FALL CONCERT
After the summer season, the Library Jazz Band returns to Yonkers’ Will Library for an annual fall concert. This will be held on Sunday, November 22 at 2pm, featuring music you can move your feet to. The Library Jazz Band is proud to produce this concert thanks to support from an ArtsAlive grant from ArtsWestchester. Come to Grinton I. Will Library, 1500 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10701, to see the performance!
