More than 10 people were left homeless after the house fire that took place on Tuesday, Jul. 28, at the Hildreth Place house in Yonkers. According to the News12 report, the fire started from the outside and spread to the basement and the first floor.
PJ Goldfeder, executive assistant chief for the Yonkers Fire Department, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with the team compiling the data after completing their work on site. He further stated that there were no injuries among the residents. However, there were seven minor injuries among the firefighters.
“There were…the layout of the home was a bit of a challenge. It was on a hill,’ said Goldfeder. “There was a lot of material inside the home, so it was a bit challenging, but nothing extraordinary.”
Despite the challenges, Goldfeder stated that the fire was brought under control within an hour. Moreover, he stated that after the completion of the investigation, the insurance will get involved as part of the next step.
