Yonkers Man Arrested for DWI After Crashing into New Jersey Home and Attempting to Flee

In an incident on Sunday, a Yonkers man, identified as Anthony Deleon, 37, was arrested after crashing his 2005 Acura TSX into a residence on Hazel Street near the Garden State Parkway in Clifton, New Jersey. The situation escalated further when Deleon attempted to flee the scene. However, a vigilant neighbor apprehended him on West Seventh Street.

According to police reports, a resident in the area chased down Deleon, managing to detain him until law enforcement arrived. Miraculously, none of the occupants inside the home suffered injuries. Although the dwelling itself sustained considerable damage to an exterior wall and its foundation. The Clifton Building Department has been notified to inspect and assess the structural integrity of the affected property.

Deleon’s troubles did not end with the crash. Authorities took him into custody for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and subsequently transported him to a local hospital. Though, Deleon refused to comply with staff attempting to draw blood for a blood alcohol test.

Facing a litany of charges in New Jersey, including DWI and various motor vehicle violations, Deleon’s vehicle was impounded by Clifton police.
