A routine car stop on Monday night in Staten Island led to the arrest of Anthony Smith of Yonkers, who was allegedly in possession of a loaded firearm and illegal drugs.
At approximately 9:24 p.m. on Monday, officers pulled over a 2018 Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle was driven by Anthony Smith, a 31-year-old resident of North Broadway in Yonkers. The traffic stop took place near Corson Avenue and Jersey Street. The arresting officers discovered a 9mm Taurus G2S firearm in Smith’s possession, along with illegal narcotics. According to a spokeswoman for the NYPD‘s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, authorities arrested Smith without incident.

Smith now faces a litany of serious charges, including criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, obstructing governmental administration, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, as confirmed by public records. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Court set bail in the amount of $400,000/$200,000 for these gun and drug charges.
