* WHAT…For the Coastal Flood Warning, one to two feet of
inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near
the waterfront and shoreline. For the Coastal Flood Advisory,
one to one and a half feet of inundation above ground level
expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
* WHERE…In Connecticut, Southern Fairfield County. In New
York, Southern Westchester, Bronx, Northern Queens and
Northern Nassau Counties.
* WHEN…For the Coastal Flood Warning, from 9 PM this evening
to 1 AM EST Sunday. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 7 AM
to 2 PM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS…Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas near the
waterfront and shoreline, including roads, parking lots, parks,
lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the
waterfront. Numerous road closures are likely, and vehicles
parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will likely
become flooded. Flooding will also extend inland from the
waterfront along tidal rivers and bays.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Strong onshore flow and 3 to 4 foot seas on
Long Island Sound may exacerbate impacts in Southern
Fairfield.
