Convicted Sex Offender, Kotopoulos, Sentenced for More Crimes

Demetrious Kotopoulos of Yonkers was convicted and sentenced to prison for the possession of child pornography.

The 41 year-old Yonkers resident was already on probation for a previous conviction on sex offense crimes. On April 21, 2022 Kotopoulos was arrested for various new charges spurred from information gathered by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program. On two separate occasions in 2021 and 2022, Kotopoulos uploaded child pornography to the social media site, Discord. He was later found to be in possession of a video containing further child sex acts. He also failed to disclose the creation of new email addresses which is a mandator condition of his probation. Westchester County District Attorney, Mimi Rocah, provided a strong warning to would-be offenders.

“Let this sentence serve as a reminder that my office will relentlessly investigate and prosecute sex offenders, especially those who exploit and threaten our children.”

Demetrious Kotopoulos will serve up to six years in state prison for his crimes.
