On Saturday, December 17th, the body of a man presumed to be in his 50’s or 60’s was discovered by the NYPD.
The police have initially suspected the man died of natural causes. The body was found near an “encampment” leading investigators to believe the deceased was homeless and living within the park.
With the temperatures dipping below freezing in recent days, the risks to the homeless population throughout the area are rising.
