This week saw the grand opening of the the YPD-PAL Kids Closet on December 10th. The Yonkers Departments in association with the Police Athletic League are offering free clothes to children of all ages at their facility located on 127 North Broadway in Yonkers.

In attendance at the grand opening were Police Commissioner Christopher Sapienza and Police Athletic League CEO Marisol Mancebo. Sapienza noted the apt timing of the opening by saying, “it is our hope to provide a degree of comfort and support to families in need this Holiday season.” Also in attendance were some elected officials. Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano provided similar words of thanks and praise with Spano stating, “During this season of giving, it’s important for all of us to come together and help one another.”
