Two Arrested in Connection with Shooting of Teenager Last Night

Police have confirmed the arrest of two individuals in connection to a shooting that left a teenager injured in Yonkers on Friday night.

The suspects, 20-year-old Jeremiah Hughes and 19-year-old Leroy Gibbs, have been charged with attempted murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

According to the authorities, the duo approached a group of young adults on Cliff Street at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the night of April 28th. They fired nine shots before fleeing on foot. A 14-year-old boy was wounded in the leg, but his injuries are not life-threatening. He is receiving medical attention at a local trauma center.

The incident was likely a targeted attack; resulting from a fight.

This shooting occurred less than a week after a similar shooting involving a 17-year-old boy who was ultimately apprehended for illegal possession of a firearm.
