After recent press coverage of an incident where two teenage twin boys were hit by a bus driver, the Yonkers Police are now charging the driver. To date, the bus driver will be charged with fleeing the scene.

On January 31st, 16-year-old Christian and Nicholas McFarlane were crossing Warburton Ave near the Charter School of Excellence. A school bus initiated a turn on the same intersection and struck the boys. The 78-year-old bus driver then proceeded to leave the scene.

The boys went to school that day but were later taken by their mother to the hospital emergency department after they complained of injuries. However, no serious or permanent injury has yet been reported.

The company which employed the driver, Royal Coach, terminated his employment after the incident. Royal Coach have made no further public statements on the matter.

The father of the victims is a bus driver for the MTA. He stated that “[the driver] should know the seriousness of the incident, you’re not supposed to hit anyone and leave the scene of an accident, that is also just common sense and inhumane.”
