Plant-based dinner party
In September, Farma Cares launched the monthly “Plant-Based Community Dine-In Night” in his hometown of Yonkers, serving over 200 residents.
On Friday, November 17, the third edition of the event will introduce Harlem’s renowned VeganHood restaurant. Partnering with Farma Cares, the duo offers Yonkers residents a taste of their most popular and nutritious plant-based menu items.

VeganHood, the 100% plant-based restaurant located in Harlem’s historic Restaurant Row, is no stranger to community impact. Co-owners Janine Smalls-Gueye and Lanise Herman-Thomas began their journey in a ghost kitchen during the pandemic, later expanding to a full-service restaurant. VeganHood not only graces various top NYC restaurant lists but also received a Certificate of Recognition from The City of New York for its social impact mission.
The collaboration will take place at the Yonkers Police Athletic League Center on 127 N Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701 from 5-7 p.m. The event is open to the public, aiming to promote community well-being and healthier lifestyles. The event is supported by the Yonkers Community Action Program.
